Mixed Fruit Compote

Ingredients Required:

1 Braeburn Apples (French)(s)



1 Ruby 'Blood' Oranges (3 pack)(s)



2 Passion Fruit(s)



Mixed dried fruits
Toasted Almonds
Orange Liqueur
Caster Sugar
Egg Whites

Serve chilled for breakfast or as a dessert with Greek yogurt, thick cream or custard.



225g/ (8oz)mixed dried fruit, such as apples, prunes, pears, apricots and peaches (not the ready-to-eat varieties).

25g (1oz) sultanas.

25g (1oz) raisins.

2 tbsp toasted flake almonds.

2 tbsp caster sugar.

600ml (1 pint) apple juice, orange juice or water.

2 tbsp orange liqueur.



  1. Place all the ingredients, except the liqueur, in the slow cooker and stir well.
  2. Put the lid on and cook on LOW for 6-10 hrs.
  3. Transfer to a serving dish and leave to cool before adding the orange liqueur.
