Slow Cooker

Wonderful slow cooker recipes for anytime of the year. Why Cook Slowly? Food cooked slowly tastes wonderfully mellow because the flavours have had time to blend and develop. Remember to: Peel any root vegetables, peel and chop onions. It may seem odd but vegetables take longer to cook than meat. Put the vegetables in the hottest part - the bottom of the pot. Make sure they are completely immersed in liquid during cooking. To speed up things you should soften or brown them first and then bring them back up to the boil before putting them in the slow cooker.
